The challenges for technical textiles in the sports sector are no less demanding than those faced by the sportsmen themselves. Whether for gymnastics, soccer, baseball, mountain climbing, or skiing, modern sportswear has to support athletes in their goals.
In doing so, technical textiles meet the ever increasing requirements of designers and manufacturers of sports outfits. Functionally, they need to be able to manage the exchange of moisture and air, while ensuring an antimicrobial finish. Ski jackets must be completely water repellent to ensure the health of the person wearing it.
