The Bluesign® Standard - A Holistic Approach

bluesi</font>gn standard

Unlike an eco-label, the bluesign® standard addresses not only consumer safety aspects, but also covers the complete range of environmental, health and safety issues throughout the textile production chain, i.e. air and water emissions, occupational health and resource management.
While many textile standards focus on products that must not be used in production, the bluesign® standard certifies substances that have been rigorously tested against harmful effects on humans and the environment and for efficient consumption of relevant resources.

Sustainability

This means that the bluesign® standard starts from the ground up, with components and processes being selected to ensure they meet the specified criteria. This ensures the most efficient and safe use of resources right from the beginning.
It is a holistic approach towards the effective management of relevant resources within each single textile process of the supply chain, from fiber production to retail, from consumer to the disposal of the garment.

Clariant supports the bluesign® standard and registers its products with this worldwide industry standard.
